As I thought about all this talk of a firm foundation it dawned on me that I may be seeing this from a whole different angle. I have spent a lot of years around the construction trades and fully understand just how important the foundation is to the finished product. It has to be square-level & sturdy in order for the building to turn out correctly. I have a friend that has a really good business just repairing bad foundations. When the foundation is bad the walls in the home can begin to crack because the home begins to sink and twist because it doesn’t have a firm base to set on. He then drills down till he hits solid rock. He then attaches the steel rods he has drilled with to the foundation. This squares it up and keeps it from sinking further. Once again the “solid rock” concept comes into play!!
I’m hoping your are able to get your arms around that same concept with Jesus being that firm foundation.
Feel free to question any of this or make any comments you like. I have a thick skin when it comes to Jesus!!
In Christ,
Jim
