It would seem the Holy Spirit is not going to allow me onto other things till we get this verse in 1 Cor. Settled. He continues to show me things about it.
The theme of a large amount of what passes as Christianity today seems to be it. The firm foundation that is supposed to be Christ that will allow others to build upon it seems to be the sticking point. I know we all believe that we are sitting upon that firm foundation but are we truly?? As you look at what they pass off as that firm foundation today we may be missing it. Paul said that when he came all he preached was Christ crucified. Are we getting that today or is Jesus just someone or something that will get us to heaven without a lot of hassle and stress in our lives. It seems to me that Jesus is more like Santa Claus than Savior & Lord. What are we being taught about God’s eternal purpose and how that should be the controlling feature of our life style?? Do we even have a clue what that purpose is and the role we are to play in it??
The question then becomes: How do you & I look at the cross of Christ and how does that play out in our lives?? Does it not stand to reason that if our foundation is bad or incorrect that what we have built upon it is at the best very shaky!! Maybe it’s time to go back and let the Holy Spirit take us thru the scripture about the house built on sand and the one built on solid rock!!
What say you???
