Here I am again, back to the “firm foundation”. I just can’t seem to get pass it.
As I run some of the references it takes me to scriptures that talk of Jesus as the cornerstone. Back in Isaiah it tells us God laying His precious cornerstone but the builders will reject it. It also says this stone will be a stone that makes them stumble and a rock that makes them fall. Acts 4:11 has Peter talking to the people after the Holy Spirit had come on them in the upper room. He brings the scripture from Ish. Out and explains that this Jesus who they had crucified was that very same “cornerstone” they had been hearing about all these years. On that day 3000 people came to Jesus. Just looking at that in that light how could we ever build something we call church leaving out the cross of Jesus??
Could it be time to call in the repairers that the Holy Spirit has raised up to do an inspection of your foundation?? This is the whole point of having a “conversational relationship” with the Holy Spirit. He alone is able to keep those cracks from appearing. Only thru his leading and direction are we able to even make a dent in the social problems caused by the enemy camp. If we are out there attempting to solve every need or problem, we can very soon [maybe even at the very start] be off the path the Holy Spirit is wanting. Remember the path is as narrow as the gate
Matthew 7:13 - 14 (NKJV) 13“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14£because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
It doesn’t sound to me like we are able to go on our feelings about problems or needs without the guidance of the Holy Spirit and be truly walking in the light of Jesus!! This relationship with the Holy Spirit also keeps us from falling into the traps laid by the enemy when dealing with those that profess to be following Christ but in reality are following other gods!! The only things we can safely fellowship around is Christ crucified and Lord of all. I see no common ground coming out of the enemy’s camp!!
What say you!!
